Riviera Caterers Wedding – Julia & Andy

Julia and Andy’s Riviera Caterers wedding was full of planning that was reflective of them and their lives. Both the bride and groom work in fitness – Julia is a trainer at Body By Simone and Andy is the General Manager and a founding trainer at Rumble Boxing. So naturally, they incorporated many fitness related things into the day. Andy proposed to Julia while on a fitness shoot at the top of Mt. Tammany after a hike, so they wanted to make sure that it was accurately reflected in their wedding. The cocktail hour included mini burgers with labels that included “to burn off: 3 burpees, 2 pushups”. The favors were workout DVDs that the couple produced together during the first years they were dating. The cake topper was the bride and groom modeled after a photo they took during a shoot in plank position. Dessert included a donut wall that said: “forget cheat day.”

The couple also wanted to incorporate family as best as possible into the day. They got married at St. Finbar Catholic Church, which was the same venue that the groom’s parents were married at. Andy’s dad died suddenly of a heart attack right after they were engaged, and his mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a month after. Needless to say, it was an emotional engagement for our bride and groom so having the ceremony at that particular church was a personal touch for the couple.

As for the rest of the planning, the bride wanted to be very involved and therefore did not hire a planner. The goal was to keep everything simple, timeless, and clean. She chose a neutral color for the bridesmaids dresses and included a lot of greenery in the floral. Her florist suggested a large green arrangement with forest green name cards hanging from it as guests arrived. They also had calligraphy on the mirrors in the women’s restroom accompanied with a rose bar. Mirrored tops on the tables provided a very cool look and our floor plan of varying sized rectangular tables really made the room look great.
