Bourne Mansion Wedding | Jackie & Dan

On May 20, 2017, Jackie and Dan professed their love, and tied the knot amongst the architectural beauty of Bourne Mansion. Jackie had always dreamed of getting married in Long Island, so Bourne Mansion was the perfect combination of luxury and location.

The Details

Their theme was an English Garden, with feminine pink details and leafy greens. The ceremony was held at St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, at the same church that Jackie’s parents were married in, which it made it so special! The centerpieces, bouquets and boutonnieres all were embraced with a loose, flowing and wild look. The bridal bouquet had white peonies, hydrangeas and roses with some dark leafy greens. The bridesmaid bouquets incorporated a mix of white, blush and deep pink. One of the highlights of the day that Jackie and Dan chose was their beautiful and daring pink cake. It was truly a show stopper! The cake was based in a hot pink cake, with blush pink and white floral piping, and fresh flowers on top of each tier.

The Reception

Jackie and Dan’s first dance was to Elton John’s “Something About the Way You Look Tonight. ” The reception was a party with a 7-piece band playing a mix of old and new pop, and even a DJ that played several tradition Greek songs. The couple beautifully embraced their culture for their wedding, and ended their magical wedding day dancing with family and friends!

The Venue

The Bourne Mansion| Jackie & Dan proved to be an exceptional choice for this celebration. The venue proved to be an exceptional choice that perfectly complemented the couple’s vision for their special day. Every architectural detail and carefully maintained space contributed to an atmosphere that felt both elegant and welcoming. The indoor and outdoor areas each offered their own unique charm, providing beautiful backdrops for both the ceremony and reception. The venue’s event team worked seamlessly behind the scenes, ensuring that every aspect of the day ran smoothly and that guests were comfortable throughout the celebration. It was clear why this venue has earned its reputation as one of the premier wedding destinations in the region.

Getting Ready

The morning began with an air of excitement and anticipation as the couple prepared separately for the day ahead. The bridal suite was a scene of beautiful chaos, with the hair and makeup team working their magic while bridesmaids shared stories and laughter. These getting ready moments are always some of our favorites to photograph, as they capture the raw, unfiltered emotions of the day before the ceremony begins. The bride’s transformation was stunning, each element coming together to create a vision of elegance. Meanwhile, the groom and groomsmen shared their own bonding moments, adjusting ties and cufflinks while reminiscing about years of friendship. The first time the bride saw herself fully dressed was an emotional moment that we were honored to capture, a quiet pause before the whirlwind of the day truly began.

Capturing the Moments

As wedding photographers, we live for moments like these. There is something truly magical about being entrusted with capturing the most important day in a couple’s life, and this wedding was a perfect reminder of why we love what we do. We focused on capturing both the grand, sweeping moments and the tiny, fleeting ones that might otherwise go unnoticed: a grandmother’s proud smile, a best man’s nervous fidgeting before his speech, the way the light caught the bride’s veil during the ceremony. Natural light played a starring role throughout the day, allowing us to create images with a timeless, editorial quality. The portrait session was particularly special, as the couple was completely at ease in front of the camera, allowing their genuine connection to shine through in every frame. These are the images that become family heirlooms, passed down through generations as a visual love story.
