When planning your New York wedding, choosing the right venue can feel overwhelming. The city is known for luxurious venues like the Plaza Hotel and Guastavino’s, with their grandiose ballrooms and opulent decor. While these spaces are truly spectacular, they don’t always fit the intimate feel that some couples are looking for on their wedding day.
For modern brides looking for the dream industrial-chic wedding venue, the Foundry wedding venue is a true hidden gem. Located in Long Island City, just a short drive from Manhattan over the Queensboro bridge, the Foundry is a beautiful venue that offers a unique and unforgettable experience.

This stunning venue has everything you could possibly want for your big day. The jaw-dropping brickwork is the perfect backdrop for your modern ceremony, the loft-style space and courtyard are the ideal settings for the reception of your dreams, and the incredible city views are the perfect way to end your night. The picturesque outdoor spaces are covered in sprawling ivy, and you’ll even enjoy a spectacular view of the iconic New York City skyline from across the river.
The Foundry wedding venue is one of our favorite spaces to photograph because of the endless photo opportunities it provides. It’s a versatile venue that allows couples to share their love story in the most beautiful way. We had the pleasure of capturing the special moments from Phoebe and Mike’s wedding day at The Foundry, and it was an experience that we, as photographers, won’t soon forget.

The Foundry Wedding Venue: A Historical Space with an Industrial Chic Atmosphere
The Foundry is a truly unique NYC wedding venue that boasts both historical charm and modern elegance. The space was originally built in the 19th century and served as a steel foundry for many of New York City’s riverfront manufacturers. By the 1970s, the space was abandoned, but the incredible brickwork and industrial feel remained.
In 1980, the property was purchased by the Du Val family, who chose to restore and transform the building into the event space that it is today. Their renovation process was painstaking, taking several years to complete. They wanted to maintain the integrity and charm of the building while also making it a functional and beautiful space for weddings and other events.
The end result is a one-of-a-kind venue that has the perfect mix of old and new. The brickwork, exposed beams, and spectacular glass ceiling give the space an industrial feel, while the elegant chandeliers, chic decor, and subtle lighting create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Foundry’s Indoor and Outdoor Wedding Spaces
The Foundry offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings and events. The standard 12-hour venue rental includes the Foundry Main Space, comprised of the Courtyard (with the option to add a tent), the ground floor, and the mezzanine. The space is truly versatile, with brick walls, glowing string lights, and a tall glass skylight that allows natural light to flood the room. You can choose to exchange your vows outdoors in front of the sprawling ivy or in front of the large glass windows that overlook the Courtyard.
The Main Space can accommodate up to 125 guests for a seated dinner indoors, or you can choose to dine in the Courtyard, which can seat up to 165. The Courtyard is an entirely customizable outdoor space that you can make your own using rental chairs, tables, and furniture of your choosing. The entire area is covered in lush green ivy, and there’s a stunning view of the Queensboro Bridge in the distance.
There are additional event spaces at the Foundry that can be rented for a fee. These spaces include the Greenhouse, the Albra Room, the Billiards Room, the Terrace, and the Du Val Suite.

The Greenhouse
The Greenhouse is the perfect space for smaller weddings. It can also be used in addition to the Main Space or as an alternative to the Courtyard. It features an impressive glass ceiling, year-round indoor ivy, and beautifully weathered brick walls. It can accommodate 70 guests for a seated dinner and up to 120 for ceremonies, cocktails, and dancing.
The Albra Room
You can use the whitewashed Albra room as a chic cocktail hour space in conjunction with the Greenhouse. It’s also an excellent option for a more intimate after-party and can be rented for an hour and a half after your reception.
The Billiards Room
An ideal space for VIPs, getting ready, or as a fun after-party location with your late-night guests.
The Terrace
The outdoor elevated Terrace is the perfect place to take in the stunning Manhattan skyline with your guests. It’s a great spot for cocktails before the reception or for an after-party under the stars.
The Du Val Suite
This private suite is a loft-style apartment located on the Foundry’s property. It can be added to your rental and used as a getting-ready space or as a luxurious overnight stay on the property after your big day. It’s an airy space with plenty of room for your party to get ready and a stunning private garden for some beautiful photos.
