Every so often, a wedding comes along that stays with us long after the last dance. Jillian and Austin’s Soho Grand Hotel wedding was exactly that — a celebration so full of style, emotion, and downtown New York energy that we found ourselves reliving it for months.
Jillian and Austin exchanged vows at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, one of the most iconic and breathtaking ceremony venues in all of New York City. The grandeur of the cathedral — its soaring Gothic arches, stained glass, and sense of reverence — set the stage for an incredibly moving ceremony. Watching their families and friends gathered in that extraordinary space was a reminder of why cathedral weddings hold such timeless appeal.
Jillian made a statement from the very first look. Instead of a traditional gown, she chose a Gabriela Hearst dress paired with tailored pants — a bold, downtown-inspired choice that perfectly suited the Soho setting. It was modern, confident, and entirely her. Austin, sharp in a classic black tux, couldn’t stop admiring her all day — and she was gazing right back at him the entire time.
After the ceremony, the celebration moved to the Soho Grand Hotel, where the intimate reception captured everything we love about downtown Manhattan weddings. The hotel’s terrace offered sweeping views of the New York City skyline, giving guests a backdrop that only this city can deliver. The evening unfolded beautifully: exceptional food and drinks, heartfelt toasts, and a dance floor that stayed packed well into the night. What struck us most was the energy in the room — every single person was smiling, laughing, and soaking in the joy of the day.

From the hot shaves by the New York Shaving Company for the groomsmen to LeVain Bakery cookies stacked as the wedding cake, Jillian and Austin infused their personalities into every detail. A vintage Bentley from M&V Transportation made for stunning street portraits, while Michael George’s floral arrangements added just the right touch of natural elegance to the Soho Grand’s sleek interiors. Their wedding planner, Big City Bride, pulled everything together seamlessly.
The Soho Grand Hotel occupies a unique place in the NYC wedding landscape. It blends boutique hotel intimacy with the unmistakable energy of downtown Manhattan. For couples who want a reception that feels sophisticated without being stuffy — where the city itself becomes part of the celebration — it’s hard to beat. Jillian and Austin’s wedding was a perfect example of what this venue can offer.
