Meera and Darshan’s Legacy Castle wedding was the kind of multi-day celebration that fills every frame with color, movement, and emotion. From the intricate Mehendi designs to the final dance of the evening, their wedding honored tradition while feeling entirely their own.
Tucked into Pompton Plains, New Jersey — just a short drive from New York City — The Legacy Castle is one of the most stunning wedding venues in the region. Created by entrepreneur Mounir Badaan, the venue sits on a scenic peninsula surrounded by freshwater lakes and lush greenery, with white swans drifting across the water. Inside, the architecture is equally striking: ornate iron railings, gold leaf detailing, crystal chandeliers, and grand ballrooms that feel like they belong in another era. For couples looking for a venue that matches the scale and beauty of a traditional Indian wedding, Legacy Castle delivers on every level.
The festivities kicked off with the Mehendi ceremony, where intricate henna designs adorned Meera’s hands and feet — each pattern telling its own story. The Sangeet night followed, filling the venue with music, choreographed dances, and the kind of joyful chaos that only happens when two families come together to celebrate.
Darshan made his entrance in true style during the Baraat procession, arriving on a beautifully decorated horse accompanied by family and friends dancing, drums pounding, and confetti filling the air. The energy was electric — guests lined the path cheering and celebrating as he made his way to the venue. It’s one of those moments that reminds you why Indian weddings are unmatched in their ability to make you feel fully alive.
Under a mandap draped in gold fabric and illuminated by chandeliers, Meera and Darshan exchanged garlands in the Varmala ceremony, symbolizing their acceptance of one another. They performed the Saptapadi — the seven sacred steps — pledging their commitment across seven lifetimes. The Kanyadaan followed, as Meera’s parents lovingly entrusted their daughter to Darshan. Every ritual carried deep significance, and every moment was charged with emotion.
Meera was breathtaking in a vibrant pink and red lehenga that commanded attention from every angle. Darshan complemented her perfectly in a navy sherwani — regal, polished, and entirely himself. Together, they were a striking pair against the Legacy Castle’s ornate backdrop. Hair by Senada and makeup by Pixzydust and Kathleen Benjamin brought Meera’s bridal vision to life beautifully.
The reception at Legacy Castle was a celebration in every sense of the word. Guests were treated to a feast prepared by Chand Palace, and the dance floor stayed packed from the first song to the last. The floral design by Jyoti Decorations transformed the ballroom into something out of a dream, with rich colors and lush arrangements that honored the couple’s aesthetic. DJ Team BSL and a violinist from Captivate Events kept the energy soaring all night.
We had the privilege of photographing Meera and Darshan throughout their celebrations — from quiet, intimate moments between the two of them to the explosive joy of the Baraat and the grandeur of the reception. The Legacy Castle’s grounds, with their lakes and gardens, provided stunning backdrops for portraits, while the ballroom’s chandeliers and gold detailing made every reception shot feel cinematic.
